Introduction

The 9th International Conference on Environmental and Energy Engineering (IC3E 2026), hosted by Hunan University and supported by Sophia University (Japan), Asia-Pacific Institute of Science and Engineering, and the International Society for Environmental Information Sciences (ISEIS), will be held at Hunan University, Changsha, China, from April 24–26, 2026. This conference serves as a leading forum for researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and exchange technologies, tools, and experiences.

Changsha is the capital city of Hunan Province, located in the middle reaches of the Xiang River. Known as the "Star City", it boasts over 3,000 years of history and profound cultural heritage. As both the political, economic, and cultural center of Hunan, Changsha is also a vital transportation hub in southern China due to its strategic geographic location. It is renowned for its spicy Hunan cuisine, especially fiery hotpot and local snacks, attracting food lovers nationwide.

Changsha also offers rich cultural resources, including historical sites such as Yuelu Mountain and Orange Isle, as well as cultural landmarks like the Hunan Provincial Museum — all drawing countless visitors. Whether showcasing dynamic innovation or deep-rooted tradition, Changsha exemplifies a unique fusion of modernity and antiquity.

Hunan University is situated in Changsha, Hunan Province, nestled at the foot of the picturesque Yuelu Mountain. With its beautiful campus, it enjoys the reputation of being the "Millennium Academy and Century-old University". Its academic origins trace back to the Yuelu Academy founded in 976 AD. After several historical transformations, it was restructured as Hunan Higher Normal School in 1903 and officially named Hunan University in 1926. In 1937, it became one of the 16 National Universities established by the Republic of China government.
