The 21st National Conference on Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis will be held from November 21 to 24, 2025 at Shanghai Fuyue Hotel. The conference is sponsored by the Council of National Conference on Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, the Engineering Thermochemistry Professional Committee of the Chemical Industry Society of China, and the Combustion Division of the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics; and organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The program includes plenary talks, keynote speeches, invited presentations, industrial forum reports, oral presentations, and poster displays, aiming to provide a platform for academic exchange and achievement demonstration for researchers and engineering professionals, and to promote the rapid development of analytical and applied pyrolysis-related industries in China.

Submissions consist of two-page abstracts, submitted online via the 'Online Submission' section on the conference website. Abstract templates are provided in the attachments. The Program Committee will review submissions to select oral presentations and poster displays. Ten Outstanding Paper Awards and five Outstanding Poster Awards will be conferred during the closing ceremony.
1. Pyrolysis Reaction Mechanisms: radical reactions, material transformation, elemental migration, product and pollutant formation, reaction pathways, mechanisms, kinetics, and modeling.
2. Analytical Pyrolysis: pyrolyzers, development of pyrolysis analytical instruments, novel pyrolysis research methodologies, coupling of pyrolyzers with advanced analytical techniques.
3. Thermal Pyrolysis Technologies: conversion and utilization of biomass, coal, petroleum hydrocarbons, and waste materials via thermal pyrolysis; process optimization.
4. Catalytic Pyrolysis Technologies: catalytic thermal pyrolysis of biomass, coal, petroleum hydrocarbons, and waste; catalyst development and evaluation.
5. Emerging Pyrolysis Technologies: plasma pyrolysis, microwave pyrolysis, electrochemical pyrolysis.
6. Pyrolysis Engineering: engineering-scale preparation and application method development; equipment design and scale-up for thermal pyrolysis of major resources including minerals, coal, biomass, waste, and oil & gas.
7. Pyrolysis in Specialized Sectors: applications in materials science, environmental protection, cultural heritage preservation, forensic science, geology, fire investigation, aerospace, and national defense.
8. AI + Pyrolysis: AI-driven prediction of pyrolysis mechanisms, data analysis, and materials design.
A special issue will be published in the Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis (IF = 5.8) and Progress in Reaction Kinetics and Mechanism (IF = 2.1). Selected conference papers will be recommended for publication in these special issues; unsolicited submissions are also welcome. At least one author of each accepted paper must attend the conference to present; papers without an attending author will not be published or recommended.
