2013 The Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems

The Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), sponsored by the Association for Information Systems (AIS), is the premier information systems conference in the region. It aims to provide a high quality forum for researchers and practitioners to share research findings, practices, and ideas on key issues in information systems and management. The PACIS 2013 will be held in Jeju Island on June 18-22, 2013. The hosting organization is the Korea Society of Management Information Systems (KMIS), which is the largest IS professional institute in Korea. The PACIS 2013 Program Committee welcomes paper submissions of completed research papers, research-in-progress papers, teaching cases, panel proposals, and workshop proposals. The conference theme is "Smart, Open and Social Information Systems." Social media has been explosively used over the last few years. What makes it possible is that users have enough ability to easily create and share information with their networks in real time basis using not only smart devices but also open information systems. This provides significant implications for us to think about how information and communication technologies can reach wider audiences much faster and impact on both individuals and businesses.
