SERE 2013 is the seventh annual conference sponsored by the IEEE Reliability Society on Software Security and Reliability, with SE representing SEcurity and RE for Reliability. The conference is a gathering for researchers and practitioners presenting their on-going ideas, experiences, and outcomes of most recent research, and exchanging best-of-breed practices for developing reliable, secure, and trustworthy software in a more effective and efficient way. Not only can the academic community gain an increased awareness of the areas that are vital to the software industry, but practitioners can also have a forum to express their needs. The 2013 conference will be held at NIST (the National Institute of Standards and Technology), an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, which is less than one hour from Washington D.C.
