Introduction

Scalability is a primary consideration in the design and implementation of computing and communication systems. The rapid increase in the volume of information that needs to be processed by computers necessitates new architectures, software, algorithms, and tools to improve scalability. ScalCom-13 aims at providing an international forum for researchers and practitioners to discuss original ideas on all aspects of scalability in computing. ScalCom-13 is soliciting original, previously unpublished work addressing research challenges and presenting advances in the design and implementation of scalable computing and communication systems.
