The Workshop on Supporting Diversity in Systems Research (Diversity 2013) is a forum to support traditionally underrepresented students in systems research. It provides minority and female students at the graduate or advanced undergraduate level with valuable opportunities for mentorship and networking. However, the workshop is open to everyone. We encourage all students within the systems research community to attend. The program includes invited technical talks from diverse members of the systems research community, a student poster competition, and career-oriented panel discussions. The overall goal of the workshop is to strengthen the pipeline of systems students, providing them with advice and networking opportunities that they might not otherwise receive. Specifically, the workshop will include: Invited talks from rising stars (1-7 years post PhD) Invited talks from established researchers A panel discussion on career planning *new* A student poster competition Student travel grants
