The 1 st ISOPE Additive Manufacturing Symposium

Additive manufacturing (AM) techniques create 3-D objects directly from a computer model, depositing material only where required. AM technology has seen more than 20 years of development and is presently one of the most rapidly developing manufacturing techniques. Interest in AM techniques has grown swiftly as applications have progressed from rapid prototyping to the production of end-use products. It has the potential to exert a profound impact on manufacturing. This technology can give industry new design flexibility, reduce energy use, and shorten time to market. This symposium is the first ISOPE forum focusing on the research into and application of AM for the production of parts and equipment for offshore, oil and gas industries. The symposium will solicit thepapers on process, materials, design and supply chain and management issues as well as novel applications of AM within industry.
