Introduction

We are pleased to announce that the IMLA 22 will take place at the Navigation College of Jimei University, Xiamen, China on October 10th-13th, 2014. As one of the prominent maritime education and training conference in the world, it will provide scholars with an opportunity to share their latest academic achievements and develop friendships in the field of maritime education and training. The International Maritime Lecturers’ Association annual conference is a no-border forum: a round table for discussions on sea-related issues. The aim of IMLA is to promote contact and cooperation between Maritime Lecturers of all disciplines and to develop a body of professional expertise. This aim still is attempted to be fulfilled by all of us who face the challenges of educating and training the maritime industry’s human resource and who wish to grasp the opportunities that an international meeting offers. Teachers, lecturers and all other interested parties from all over the world, who are dedicated to inspire future seafarers, are invited to present their achievements, share and discuss experiences and exchange ideas in papers, workshops, poster presentations and other stimulating activities to be presented at IMLA 22 in Jimei, China.
