Introduction

The ASSETS conference explores the design, evaluation, and use of computing and information technologies to benefit people with disabilities and older adults. ASSETS is the premier forum for presenting innovative research on mainstream and specialized assistive technologies, accessible computing, and assistive applications of computer, network, and information technologies.

ASSETS is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and its SIGACCESS Special Interest Group on Accessible Computing. The single track and friendly atmosphere make ASSETS the ideal venue to meet researchers, practitioners, developers and policymakers to exchange ideas, share information and make new contacts.

Call for paper

Submission Topics

High quality, original submissions on topics relevant to computers and accessibility are invited. This includes the use of technology by and in support of:

  1. Individuals with hearing, sight and other sensory impairments
  2. Individuals with motor impairments
  3. Individuals with memory, learning and cognitive impairments
  4. Individuals with multiple impairments
  5. Older adults with diverse capabilities
  6. Professionals who work with these populations
  7. Submissions should present novel ideas, designs, techniques, systems, tools, evaluations, scientific investigations, methodologies, social issues or policy issues relating to:
  8. Assistive technologies that improve day-to-day life
  9. Assistive technologies that improve access to mainstream Computer and Information Technologies
  10. Innovative use of mainstream technologies to overcome access barriers
  11. Accessibility and usability of mainstream technologies
  12. Identification of barriers to technology access that are not addressed by existing research
