QSIC is an innovative forum gathering together researchers and practitioners with a shared interest in improving software quality. The latest innovations, tools, and techniques in this challenging area will be presented, discussed, and refined. Quality assurance is a critical component at every stage in the development of a software system, affecting requirements elicitation, architecture and design, and implementation. The quality of the artifacts generated in these stages will significantly influence the rest of the system. Once again, QSIC 2014 will maintain a theme focused on the Engineering of Quality Systems, consisting of three major research domains: the quality assurance of artifacts generated during software development, such as program code and design documents; the definition and exploration of quality relationships among different software development phases, such as the impact that the quality of requirements might have on the quality of the derived software architecture; and finally the investigation of how codification and communication of knowledge affects software quality. Previous conferences were held over four continents, in Hong Kong; Dallas, USA; Braunschweig, Germany; Melbourne, Australia; Beijing, China; Portland, USA; Oxford, UK; and Jeju, Korea. Since 2009, the IEEE Reliability Society has been one of the sponsors of the conference.
