Introduction

Power utilities throughout the world face similar challenges as their most strategic assets are aging: new tools and innovative working methods are seek to inspect, refurbish, maintain and repair these infrastructures. More and more, robots appear as a viable and interesting new way of doing things. Organized by the Control, Automation and Robotics Group (GCAR) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), the 3rd CARPI aims to bring together robotics solution developers (universities, research centers and industry suppliers) and power industry end-users (utilities, including power generation, transmission and distribution). The Preliminary Technical Program can be downloaded here. The Final Technical Program will be released after the deadline for registration of authors of papers.
