Introduction

On behalf of the organizing committee, I am honored and delighted to welcome you to the 21st International Conference on Neural Information Processing (ICONIP 2014). The chosen venue is the beautiful city of Kuching in Sarawak, Malaysia. Kuching is home to the Semeggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, which is one of the best known sanctuaries for the endangered orang utan. The theme of this conference is "The Next Renaissance of Neural Information Processing". Our technical program is rich and varied with keynote speeches, invited talks, workshops, tutorials, and an industrial track. A big participation from both the academia and the industry is expected. We need your work to be shared, and we are calling for papers, special topic sessions, and workshops proposals to be submitted.
