2014 International Conference on Information Technology and Multimedia (ICIMU)

Information technology and multimedia is one of the industries that contribute significantly to the economy of the nation worldwidely. The Internet of Things (IoT) in particular, is a novel paradigm that envisions the evolution of human lifestyle as a network of millions of technologies connected with one another. Through the IoT, the world will witness ubiquitous computing that connects and augments disparate systems to yet another system, resulting in a huge connected network. In this network, the data travel automatically to accommodate human’s need, often with very minimal human intervention. This paradigm has driven excitement as it promises greater opportunities and challenges for economic and social values. The questions of ‘what, ‘where’ and ‘how’ the IoT can do to spark more creativity in invention and enable more sophisticated technologies, are very interesting. To answer these questions, the International Conference on Information Technology and Multimedia at UNITEN (ICIMu 2014) is organised to provide a platform for researchers, academia, engineers, standardisation bodies, government and practitioners to meet and exchange ideas on recent research and development, and to present state of art advances and innovations in the IoT. The ICIMu 2014, which will be held in November 2014, is going to be the sixth of a series of ICIMu conferences held by the College of Information Technology, Universiti Tenaga Nasional. Its theme this time is “Cultivating Creativity and Enabling Technology through the Internet of Things”.
