Introduction

The Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams University is proud to host the 16th International Middle East Power Systems Conference (MEPCON'14) in Cairo, Egypt. MEPCON is the premium Middle East conference on technological progress in all aspects of electrical power and energy systems. The conference is an exceptional venue for discussing issues and developments as well as for highlighting the needs of the multifaceted field of electrical power systems. MEPCON brings together an international group of practicing power systems researchers, engineers, operators, planners, policy makers, academics and others with interest in this dynamic profession. Besides the presentations on the latest research achievements, the conference often includes valuable plenary session and tutorials on the most up-to-date topics on power systems.
