EAGE/SPE Subsalt Imaging Workshop: Challenges of Subsalt Imaging and Exploration

Subsalt imaging has become even more important following the increase of drilling costs during the last five years and the growing interest in subsalt exploration. It makes sense to further invest in subsalt imaging technologies and basin modeling workflows in order to minimize exploration risks. The objective of this integrated workshop is to bring together experts from oil companies, seismic companies, service companies and academic researchers and students to discuss advances in subsalt imaging, basin modeling and petroleum systems, and recent subsalt exploration progress. With a special focus on the Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and subsalt provinces in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) 2016's Subsalt Imaging Workshop promises to be extremely interesting.
