The rail transportation infrastructure is one of the Key investment fields in the13th five-year plan, and the One-Belt- One-Road strategy implemented by the Chinese government is creating so many new opportunities in the global market. Many developed and developing countries have big demands on the high-speed rail technology and products. However, our domestic rail investment and construction and management must be transformed and upgraded with respect to the fine management, information technology in order to suit the new environment in which the higher demand prevails as a new norm. If we keep using the traditional management methodology, obviously we are unable to have sustainable development.
In the world marketplace, sophisticated technologies like BIM appear utterly important as we are competing with developed countries like Japan for similar projects.
The application of BIM technologies in the rail industry helps to improve the dynamic visual management and information collaboration of the engineering projects in a lifecycle from the planning, design, construction to the operation and maintenance. BIM supplies information for the project optimization and decision-making process. It can increase the degree of engineering integration and information and therefore the project quality and investment efficiency, save energy and protect the environment. But in general, the use of BIM technology in Chinese rail industry falls far behind European countries and the United States. The application values are still needed to be developed. The level of application in operation and maintenance is low. And the society lacks the necessary technology standards and systems.
In order to promote the application and development of BIM technology in rail industry together with the strategy of “One-Belt-One-Road", to strengthen research and communication, Zhejiang Province BIM Service Center(a State Owned Organization) will held China international rail investment & construction BIM technology application summit on April 14th-15th in Hangzhou. The theme is BIM technology with the strategy of “One-Belt-One-Road "-- precision, efficient, safe and controllable, driving the revolution of rail investment and construction industry. Delegates from subway owners, engineering contractors, equipment manufactures and wholesaler, academics scientists, entrepreneurs and bankers from all over the worlds are selected invited over to participate the forum and participating numbers are strictly limited.
