Introduction

The Bioorganic Chemistry Gordon Research Conference (GRC) was established in 1992 with the aim of bringing together diverse scientific disciplines at the interface of chemistry and biology. Attendees from industry, academia and other research institutions convene annually to discuss the latest techniques and approaches that are widely applicable but not limited to bioorganic chemistry within cellular and molecular processes, drug discovery efforts, new target identification and development of interdisciplinary research tools and probes.

The 2016 meeting, which marks the 25th Anniversary of the Bioorganic Chemistry GRC, will broadly focus on the impact of bioorganic chemistry in the development of methods that facilitate new therapeutic strategies and drug discovery. Sessions will include design of new cellular tools to probe biology, chemical approaches that facilitate advances in imaging, recent advances in neuroscience chemical biology, strategies for intractable targets in drug development, new approaches to natural products and antibiotic discovery, peptides and proteins with novel functions, and the importance of glycans in health and disease. Conferees are encouraged to present posters; poster presenters should submit an abstract with their applications on the GRC web site. As this meeting is usually oversubscribed, submission of applications in early 2016 is strongly encouraged. A number of poster presenters from among the early applications will be invited to present short talks.
