Geoscience students that want to see unconventional clastic reservoirs in the field. This field trip is for students only.
This field trip provides an overview of the main unconventional clastic reservoir units in Western Canada. Field trip stops in the Foothills and Front Ranges of the Canadian Rockies will include visits to outcrop equivalents of the Triassic Montney Formation and the Cretaceous Cadomin, Gething, Wilrich and Cardium formations.
This trip will focus on the sedimentology and depositional origin of these units and will discuss the opportunities and challenges of each unconventional target zone.
