Introduction

Who Should Attend
This course is designed for geologists, geophysicists, and petroleum engineers who are interested in learning the concepts and methods of geological reservoir characterization and modeling.
Objectives
The course provides an introduction to the concepts and methods of geological reservoir characterization and modeling through lectures, exercises, and case studies. A variety of topics are discussed that include sedimentary and reservoir-rock properties, heterogeneity and flow units, well logs and pay determination, unconventional resources, siliciclastic and carbonate deposits and reservoirs, structural controls on reservoir heterogeneity, and reservoir modeling concepts and methods. Exercises and case studies using data from well logs, cores, seismic, and outcrops will be presented to strengthen participant understanding of concepts and methods.
