The past decade has seen significant advancements in technologies that allow for the capture and analysis of tumor products (e.g., cells, microvesicles, DNA) from the peripheral circulation. In this year's GRC, we will focus on the next steps for application of these technologies to the clinic. We will provide an overview of the field, with free and timely discussions of various aspects of the analysis of circulating tumor cells, cell free DNA and exosomes and microvesicles, and their comparative strengths and weaknesses. We will also discuss best practices and requirements for new technologies to be successfully implemented as a clinical test, highlighting several successes at varying stages of development. Finally, this GRC will provide a forum for researchers young and seasoned to present cutting-edge work and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
