Quaternary Geology in the Foothills and Rocky Mountains, Calgary to Columbia Icefields (Athabasca Glacier)

Who Should Attend

Professionals and students, with interest in Quaternary geology, hydrogeology, and/or environmental geology.

Objectives

Investigating the Quaternary glacial history of the area between Calgary and Banff, with a drive up the Icefields Parkway to the Athabasca Glacier. We will also examine more recent geomorphic change due to flooding in 2013, and the interaction between groundwater and Quaternary deposits.
