Professionals and students wishing to increase their understanding of Upper Devonian reef to basin facies changes and conventional and unconventional play elements within an outcrop based sequence stratigraphic framework.

Objectives

The broad objectives of the trip include examining the spectrum of lithofacies found in Frasnian platform top, slope and adjacent basinal settings and the placement of these lithofacies within a depositional, sequence stratigraphic and biostratigraphic framework. Age relationships between these different lithofacies as well as the distribution and nature of reservoir, seal and source beds within time equivalent beds in the adjacent subsurface will also be discussed.
