Introduction

Due to requests from many potential participants, the committee of 2016 ACFEA Conference has been decided to extend the deadline for all kinds of submissions to March 31, 2016. You are cordially invited to submit a paper to the 11th Asian Consumer and Family Economics Association in Hong Kong hosted by the Department of Economics and Finance. If possible, please distribute this CFP information to those who might be interested in this conference. Please read the information below.

THE SCOPE OF THE CONFERENCE

The central topic of the conference is to improve the well-being of consumers and families. Professionals in economics, consumer/family economics, marketing, management, political science, education, psychology, sociology, social work, microfinance, social security and other related fields are welcome to submit papers, poster proposals, and panel proposals addressing theoretical, empirical, methodological, pedagogical, and policy issues as they apply in an Asian context.

 

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Charles Yuji HORIOKA: Research Professor, Asian Growth Research Institute, Japan and Associate Editors of International Economic Review.

Euston Quah: Professor and Head of Economics Nanyang Technological University; Editor, Singapore Economic Review (SER); President, Economic Society of Singapore; President, Asian Law and Economics Association; Member, European Academy of Science and Arts.

 

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES

All Papers accepted by the conference will be published in the proceedings; in addition, authors of papers that are outstanding in quality and content will be invited to submit their work to a special issue of two SSCI listed journals: Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning (JFCP) and Journal of Family and Economic Issues (JEEI).

Regular Price: US$ 280 (HK$2,170)

Non-Presenter's Conference Fees: US$155 (HK$1200)

Remarks:

(1) The fee includes name badge, straps Bag, abstract book and conference proceedings (CD ROM), participation certificate, welcome reception dinner at City Garden Hotel, two buffet lunches, tea/coffee and snacks during session breaks, a half-day local tour, farewell seafood dinner at Hong Kong's most renowned floating restaurant Jumbo Kingdom.

(2) For full-time PhD student participants, the conference will provide 3 nights’ free accommodation in SYU hostel upon request.

(3) A registration form will be sent to conference participants later on.

Remarks:

(1) The rates are applicable for date of check-in on 7 July 2016 and date of check-out on 10 July 2016. The room rate includes daily bullet breakfast, free internet access & local calls, and the tax & service charge.
