The International Conference on Structural Modal Properties Measurement and Applications

Over past three decades, the civil engineering industry in China has being booming and advancing at worldwide unprecedented pace, which has made indispensable contribution to the Chinese economic and social development and the improvement of life quality of the Chinese. While entering the new era, the civil engineer is facing a string of increasingly severe problems such as depletion of natural resource, pollution of environment, lack of structural durability, etc. These highlight the desperate need of developing the environmentally friendly design principles of civil engineering and streamlining its construction process. In response to the preceding trend, structural engineering has to evolve in various aspects, e.g. the innovation in structural system, structural analysis theory and design methods and the proposal of new methods for structural disaster prevention and mitigation, development of innovative construction techniques, application of high performance materials, the promotion of recycling construction waste, etc. Sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the “International Top-level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy" will hosted by Chongqing University in Chongqing in May 14-17, 2016. The domestic and international researchers, scholars and engineers are cordially invited to participate in this forum. In the context of global tendency of promoting eco-friendly civil engineering, centered on the relevant contents of “2035 development strategy of the Chinese Academy of Engineering” on the new high-performance structures, the structure of whole life design, construction, operation and maintenance, disaster prevention and mitigation of structures, energy and cost saving construction techniques, environmentally friendly techniques for offshore island construction, standardized integrated design disciplines of structural engineering, construction technique for super high-rise complex and the new energy-efficient and eco-friendly building materials, the participants will discuss the innovation and development of structural engineering, luminaries putting forward useful advice for the future development of structural engineering in China.
