2016 International Forum on Frontiers of Political Geography

In 2016, the International Geographic Federation (IGC) will be held in Beijing, China. The forum, as a pre-meeting for committee of political geography in IGC, aims to enhance mutual understanding, strengthen the academic communication between Chinese and international geography scholars, and provide Chinese scholars a chance to have a further understanding about the international political geography.

Political geography is changing rapidly after 1980s in the West, but discussions about it in China are still focused on the traditional themes; so it’s urgent that we offer a platform to communicate with international thoughts on political geography, promote the academic level of Chinese political geography, then provide better service to the society and international cooperation.

China is becoming a multinational and multicultural society along with the globalization, the rapid economy developments bring various changes of society, most of which are not understood properly. We are required to change our viewpoint of the China in the upheaval through communication and fieldwork.
