International Conference on Environmental Governance in China

Significant institutional reform is urgently needed for better dealing with the complex environmental, social and economic challenges in China. In the 13th Five-Year-Plan period, governmental organizations and their responsibilities, the command & control policies, economic and market-based approaches, as well as social governance and policies, will all be undergoing serious reform for better protecting the environment in China. The Professional Association for China’s Environment (PACE) is planning to sponsor an international conference, bringing together international scholars, governmental officials as well as leaders of nongovernmental organizations and business entities, to have a systematic review and discussion about the current status of various issues in environmental governance in China and provide recommendations for improvement.
