Introduction

The Power Electronics, Drives & Energy Systems conference – PEDES provides a forum for the exchange of information among practicing professionals in the Electrical Energy Systems Business. The emphasis is to bring together the users and researchers of Electrical Energy Systems and sub systems with emphasis on the technical content of the papers and on the quality of the Exhibition. IEEE sponsored series of international conference on “Power Electronics, Drives and Energy Systems” (PEDES) was started in 1996 and has since acquired the reputation of a high quality technical Conference that will provide a major forum for the exchange of information among practicing professionals from all over the globe in the areas of Power Electronics, Machines, Drives and Energy Systems. These subjects have assumed greater importance due to current emphasis on ‘Energy’ affected by climate change.

The scope of the conference interests include all technical aspects of the design, manufacture, application and marketing of devices, circuits, and systems related to Electrical Energy.

Over the past few years, PEDES emerged as a well recognized and an eagerly anticipated event because of its high quality technical sessions and for the networking opportunities it provides. PEDES-96, PEDES-2006, PEDES-2010 were held in Delhi, PEDES 2012 in Bangalore while PEDES 2014 was held at Bombay. PEDES2016 will be held at Trivandrum/Kovalom.
