Introduction

The WHO in 2014 estimated that 3% (about 170 million) of the world’s population were chronically infected with Hepatitis C. Hepatitis C is found worldwide. The most affected areas are Africa and Asia. IASTED’s International Conference on Hepatitis C (AfricaHepC 2016) will serve as an interdisciplinary forum for doctors, scientists, engineers, governments, organizations, and the general public to exchange information, review technologies, and research results with the aim of developing strategies to reduce and possibly eradicate this disease. Special attention to be given to countries in Africa.
