Introduction

Background
Sun Yat-sen University was established in 1924 by Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China. A top-tier research university recognized both at home and abroad for its remarkable strengths in a wide range of disciplines, including the humanities, natural sciences as well as engineering and medical sciences, Sun Yat-sen University has fostered an exceptional learning environment and a favorable academic atmosphere.
As one of the first qualified organizations in China to grant PhD(doctor) degrees in tourism management, Sun Yat-sen University has a far-reaching influence in Chinese tourism education. Based on the integration of the university’s teaching and research force, the School of Tourism Management(STM) was founded in November 2004. In 2010, the school acquired United National World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) certification in recognition of it quality in tourism education. The same year, the school became the supporting unit of the Tourism Impact Research Base founded by China National Tourism Administration. It also became the unique supporting institution of Monitoring Centre for UNWTO Sustainable Observatories (MCSTO) in Asia-Pacific. The School of Tourism Management’s academic research has a significant impact on the research fields of its kind nationwide, which strongly promotes the theoretical and practical research of tourism science in China.
Sun Yat-sen University will host the Second Zhuhai International Forum for Young Scholars on 17-19th, June, 2016. The STM will organize the Sub-Forum on Tourism Management, to explore the academic frontiers and hot topics in tourism and related fields, and to promote academic exchange and cooperation.

Application Conditions 
Applicants must be: under the age of 40; holders of a PhD degree from a well-known university abroad, or holders of a PhD degree from a domestic university but with more than 2 years of research experience abroad; must have demonstrated academic achievements or academic potential in tourism planning, hospitality management, event management and other related disciplines, and intending to apply for Sun Yat-sen University's "100 Top Talents Program", Scientific Research Staff or Postdoctoral Researcher.

 

Travel and Accommodation
Meals and accommodation will be arranged by the organizing committee, and travel subsidies will be provided as well.
