Introduction

Turkey is an agricultural country and has a considerable amount of agricultural production potential in terms of soil, climate and water resources. Forest land occupies about 42 percent of the country, and 40 percent of agricultural land is occupied by field crops, fruit-trees and vegetable crops.Turkey is an important fruit producer country. Turkey’s fresh fruit & vegetable production is approximately 47 million tons. What is remarkable with the Turkish fresh fruit industry is not only the great diversity in the number of fruits grown but also the astonishing quantity of the total produce, about 20 million tons . The fresh produce grown in Turkey mainly consists of grape-like fruits, pomefruits, stone fruits and citrus fruits. This symposium is able to offer not only an attractive scientific program but also an interesting social environment in Antalya which is known as Turkish Riviera.
