Introduction

We are excited that the conference of "Up-scaling Ground Observations and Modeling for Land Surface Process" will be held at Lanzhou in August 20-22, 2016. We warmly welcome any scientists, managers, students as well as representatives of governments, media and funding organizations, who are interested in the scaling problem in hydrology, meteorology, ecology and remote sensing technologyparticipation in this conference to share research results and discuss up-scaling methods and interrelated ground observations technology.

1) Advances in the observation of area-averaged surface fluxes: Scintillometry,   EC-Matrix, and UAV

2) Parameter aggragation methods over heterogeneous surface: Footprint analysis, Using effective parameters, Up-scaling models

3) (State-of-art) Multi-source remote sensing in up-scaling

4) Data assimilation of grid scale parameters and its application in hydrometeorological models.
