While industries and corporations have acknowledged the importance of Web 2.0 and started integrating Web 2.0 in their business processes, they have made only limited contributions to the burgeoning knowledge in Web 3.0. Web 3.0, also called the Intelligent Web, has different definitions, but it refers to the provision of a more productive, personalized and intuitive environment through the integration of Semantic Web and in general Artificial Intelligence technologies emphasizing information understanding. Web 3.0 means that our things, our belongings, will have the power to learn, intuit and decide.
Smart Commerce is one of the definitions of Web 3.0, bringing new approaches to e-business. Smart Commerce, along with other Web 3.0 definitions, means that soon we might have fully globalized services that would allow business to transform according to a new step of globalization.
W3SC2016 is an international workshop on advances in theory, applications and different approaches to using Web 3.0 and Smart Commerce. This workshop is about business transformation according to Web 3.0 and its definitions, about new types of services and innovative business models stemming from the high impact of Web 3.0 and Smart Commerce as the next step in globalization. The workshop will also include discussions on relevant topics of Big Data and Big Data Analytics (related to information understanding and new business models).
