Introduction
Nowadays, there is an increasing recognition of the role of Islam in solving contemporary issues in the Islamic world. Muslim scholars and thinkers have tried to present what they regard as Islamic perspectives on controversial matters like modernity, human rights, war and peace, terrorism, extremism, tolerance, integrate-faith, and feminism. Many other pertinent issues relevant to Islam with social sciences including political, economic, finance, social, education, trade, discrimination, religious, mental health, women issues, as well as families and the community need to be addressed. Furthermore, this conference also focuses on relationship of Islam with modern sciences for this field has reached significant phase in Malaysian educational system.
For this purpose we are organizing the 1st International Conference on Islam & Contemporary Issues in the Islamic world: Challenges and Way Forward (ICIC 2016) which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 5 & 6 December, 2016. ICIC 2016 aims at creating awareness and foster understanding on challenges that we are facing, and appreciate the opportunities that Islamic world has to offer for the better future. It further seeks to highlight vital aspects of Islam and Science interaction in various fields.
