Multi-scale phenomena are very common in nature. With the development of modern science, numerous research theories and methodologies on each individual length scale or time scale have been developed in the past century, andnowadays scientists gradually recognize the importance to investigate the complex problems that occur among two or more different scales. These problems, usually referred as mesoscale ones, are concerned with the information exchange between the subsystems at different scales, and provide a critical linker between elemental interaction and system behavior.
Mesoscale structure present a common feature in different research areas such as chemistry, materials, biology, physics and system science, which calls for an interdisciplinary research effort.
The international worshop aims to provide a forum for discussing innovative research and development in the research field of mesoscale problems.
