Introduction

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to welcome you to Barcelona, Spain, for the 16th International Conference on Accelerator and Large Experimental Control Systems ICALEPCS 2017.

This series of conferences facilitates fruitful collaborations among the world′s control system specialists from large scientific installations, such as particle accelerators, light sources, laser facilities, telescopes, tokamaks, etc.
The conference consists of scientific program including, invited orals, contributed orals, poster presentations and demonstrations, complemented with satellite workshops and tutorials on different topics as well as industrial exhibitors.

ICALECPS 2017 will be hosted by the ALBA Synchrotron. ALBA is a 3rd generation light source in operation since 2012, devoted to the academic and the industrial use, which today serves more than 1,000 researchers every year.

The venue is the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya next to the hotel King Juan Carlos I, located in the university area in Barcelona.
Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, located in the North East of Spain, and one of the leading technological centers of south Europe, with an exceptional cultural heritage, museums, live music and theaters, showing a unique and exciting atmosphere, giving the visitor a truly unforgettable experience.
