Introduction

The Korean Meteorological Society (KMS), Meteorological Society of Japan (MSJ), and Chinese Meteorological Society (CMS) have been organizing joint conference on meteorology since 2005. After the sixth conference held in China in 2013, the three societies agreed to expand the conference and encourage participations from Asian countries, with a new conference title of the Asian Conference on Meteorology (ACM). The conference is held for every two years, hosted by three societies in turn. The first of conference was held in Kyoto, Japan in October 2015. Here we would like to inform you that the second conference will be held from 23 to 24 October 2017 in Busan, Korea.
The main theme of the 2017 conference is on “Changes in Extreme Weather, Climate, and Environmental Events: Observation, Prediction, and Adaptation”. The conference will host three sessions: Session 1: Changes in Climate and Monsoon, Session 2: Changes in Extreme Weather, and Session 3: Changes in Regional Air Pollution and Transboundary Transport.
The purpose of the joint conference is to enhance the development of atmospheric science, promote international academic exchange, organize regional activities in the field of meteorology and create an academic exchange platform for meteorological societies of Asian countries.
