Introduction

We are pleased to announce the upcoming International Conference on Porous Metals and Metallic Foams, “MetFoam 2017”, which will be held in Nanjing from September 14 to 17, 2017.

This is the 10th MetFoam conference and follows those successfully organized in Germany, Japan, Canada, Slovakia, Korea, USA and Spain. The conference will gather scientists and engineers all over the world interested in lightweight porous/cellular metals, their production, properties and their application in various fields. More than 200 international experts on these topics are expected and over 125 papers will be presented.

Nanjing is one of the historical and cultural capital cities in ancient times. Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province and the provincial political, economic and cultural center, is located in the lower reaches of Yangtze River, southwest of the province. Nanjing bears the reputation of the Capital of Ten Dynasties, being since the year 229 AD the capital of Wu, Eastern Jin, Song, Qi, Liang, Chen, Southern Tang, Taiping Kingdom and Republic of China subsequently.

Guidlines

Conference manuscripts must be also submitted via this intranet system before the deadline and using the template provided on it. The manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by the organizing committee and will be published in a proceedings book several months after the conference. Selected papers will be recommended for publication in a special issue in agreement with Journal of Materials Science & Technology, Acta Metallurgica Sinica and Journal of Iron and Steel Research, International.
