We would like to offer you a warm welcome to the first Translational Pain Research Symposium, which will be held at Duke Kunshan University (DKU), China, from June 21-23, 2017. DKU is a new and state-of-art campus of Duke University and is also a dynamic, innovative and global institution, located in Kunshan, a beautiful city that is only half an hour away from Shanghai by train.
Chronic pain is a major health problem worldwide and affects 20-30% of the world population. The overall goal of this symposium is to present recent advances in basic science research of pain mechanisms, introduce cutting-edge techniques in pain research, and bridge the gap between basic research and clinical applications. Our plan is to bring together scientists, clinicians, grant officers, and editors to tackle the problem of chronic pain. Our esteemed faculty will present their latest scientific discoveries, translational research, and novel therapies.
We have included many distinguished speakers from the United States, Europe, Japan, and China. We also have a poster session and will select abstracts and posters for poster awards or short talks.
I hope you will find the talks interesting and stimulating, and also find opportunities for networking throughout the schedule.
Please join us at the first Translational Pain Research Symposium at DKU!
