Introduction

The Gordon Research Seminar on Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Toxicity is a unique forum for graduate students, postdocs, and other early career scientists to present and exchange novel, cutting-edge ideas. The focus of this meeting is to provide young scientists and investigators with an inviting forum for the exchange and discussion of new/unpublished data on mechanistic toxicology. The GRS will highlight recent advancements in the field of microbiome analysis, aimed towards safety assessment and understanding mechanisms of toxicity. The GRS will include a scientific development session with panelists from industry, government, and academia in order to provide attendees with information regarding data rigor and reproducibility.

Attendees are expected to fully participate in the GRS and present original research, thus all applications must include an abstract. Young scientists are invited to present research on all areas of mechanistic toxicology including microbiome modeling, translational studies, computational toxicology, and more. The GRS will include approximately 8 graduate student/postdoc platform presentations, which the Chairs will select from the abstracts. All attendees are expected to present their original research by presenting a poster. In order to participate, you must submit an application by the date indicated in the Application Deadline section above. All applicants are strongly encouraged to submit an application for the associated Gordon Research Conference from August 14-19, 2017.
