Master Lectures--the Legacy of Carl Friedrich Gauss

Carl Friedrich Gauss is one of the greatest mathematicians in history, and his work has profoundly influenced all subjects of mathematics, especially in number theory, analysis, differential geometry and topology, probability and statistics, and astronomy and math physics. He is a mathematician in its fullest sense. To put Gauss's work in a proper perspective and understand better its impact, we are organizing a conference titled "The legacy of Carl Friedrich Gauss". We hope that this conference will contribute to the unity of mathematics.
