Introduction

The 18th IEEE International Conference on Autonomous Robot Systems and Competitions (ICARSC2018) is an international scientific meeting in the field of Mobile Robotics financially co-sponsored by the IEEE and sponsored by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), through its Portuguese Chapter. This conference is promoted by ISEL – Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon), ESTG – Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão (Polytechnic Institute of Leiria) and Portuguese Robotics Society.
It will take place in Torres Vedras, Portugal, from 25 to 27 of April 2018, in conjunction with the 18th Portuguese Robotics Open, a RoboCup-sponsored Local Event with several other associated competitions. Its scope encompasses, but is not limited to, the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Education.

The 18th International Conference on Autonomous Robot Systems and Competitions will take place at Town Hall of Torres Vedras, located in the Town Hall Square (Praça do Município) while the Robotics Open will take place at the EXPOTORRES, in Torres Vedras, just a walking distance from Town Hall Square.

Conference content will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. As in previous edition of the conference this 18th edition will have a Special Issue of selected extended papers published in the Robotics and Autonomous Systems journal, indexed by Thomson ISI Web of Knowledge (5-Year Impact Factor: 2.373).
