ReConFig 2018 will provide a leading edge forum for researchers and engineers from across the world to present their latest research and to discuss future research and applications. The conference seeks to promote the use of reconfigurable computing and FPGA technology for research, education, and applications, covering from hardware architectures and devices to custom computers and high performance systems.
It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2018 International Conference on Reconfigurable Computing and FPGAs (ReConFig 2018) that will be held during December 3-5, 2018 in Cancun, Mexico.
Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) have become important infrastructure throughout IoT devices, networks, embedded and real time systems, and most recently data centers. FPGAs offer the advantage of being customized in the field to match application specific requirements or host a custom heterogeneous multiprocessor system on programmable chip. In addition to their historical role in distributed, embedded, real time, and telecommunications systems, FPGAs are now an integral piece of infrastructure to provide energy efficient solutions for big data analytics and machine learning applications.
The ReConFig conference is now in its 13th year and has become an international forum for researchers and practitioners to discuss and disseminate new engineering and scientific advancements in all areas pertaining to reconfigurable computing. This year ReConFig will build on its prior success and seek new timely unpublished research in the use of reconfigurable computing and FPGAs devices in research, education, and applications. Topics of interest range from, but are not limited to, physical reconfigurable hardware components and devices, performance and designer productivity techniques and tools, and new evolving use cases. This year’s ReConFig specifically encourages new research on integrating reconfigurable computing components within standard software productivity ecosystems for cloud and data center environments, and big data analytics and machine learning applications.
Topics for the general session of ReConFig include but are not limited to:
In addition to the general session, submissions are encouraged to the following special tracks that apply reconfigurable computing to:
All manuscripts will pass through a double blind review process. Manuscripts should thus be submitted without author names and affiliations. Authors can cite earlier works but the citation must appear as if the citation is to other work that could be found in the literature. References such as (“in earlier work we...") can be written as "This work builds on the work of [cite]" where [cite] is the real reference. Do not include "deleted for double-blind review” references. Full references to earlier works should be provided to allow reviewers to ascertain the contributions claimed in the submitted manuscript. In cases where the work will be provided as open source software, authors can list the website as long as their name or affiliation is not included as part of the website. Papers that identify authors will not be considered.
ReConFig also encourages students to submit their new ideas and preliminary work to the PhDd Forum. The PhD forum is a fun and exciting venue that introduces new researchers into the community.
All attendees will be encouraged to bring their hardware/software for display at the ReConFig 2018 Demo Night.
Conference Proceedings will be submitted for inclusion to IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version for a ReConFig’18 Special Issue of an International Journal.
