Introduction

After eleven successful meetings since the inau-guration in Toulouse, France in 1983, the International Conference on Conduction and Breakdown in Solid Die-lectrics (ICSD) now opens the door to liquid and gaseous dielectrics to give birth to the In-ternational Conference on Dielectrics (ICD).The wide-ning of the scope is in recognition of the fact that many breakthroughs in science occur at the interface between different areas and that the solid, liquid and gaseous die-lectrics communities will benefit from more interaction.

The first edition of a series of biennial International Conferences on Dielectrics, fully sponsored by IEEE DEIS, will take place in Montpellier, France, from Sunday 3rd until Thursday 7th July 2016.

The ICD is an interdisciplinary forum that provides a unique opportunity for researchers from industry, academia and research centers to come together to review their research activities.

We warmly invite you to attend and to contribute to the 1st International Conference on Dielectrics to be held in Montpellier, France.

The conference will run for four full days and one half day. Tutorial sessions will be held on the first day of the conference. Papers are invited in all areas of solid, liquid and gas dielectrics with a focus on the following areas listed below.
