Many kinds of ceramic materials and components have been utilized in various energy conversion and storage devices and systems, such as solar cells, photocatalysis rechargeable batteries, capacitor, and fuel cells. These devices and techniques will be essential for generating renewable energy and reducing wasteful energy consumption in future generations. The composition, crystallinity, microstructure, morphology and the surface modification of the innovative ceramics have heavy influences on the final efficiencies of the energy conversion and storage. The aim of this symposium is to discuss advances in materials synthesis, characterizations and forming technologies for a wide variety of innovative ceramics, which will be applied for photovoltaics, photocatalysis, capacitors, batteries and fuel cells.
